MENANA is a voluntary, non-profit
organization for Capacity building in nutrition whose membership consists of national professional
Nutrition Societies and Nutrition Centers in the countries of
the Middle East and North Africa.
It provides the first comprehensive Regional Middle
East and North African information resource to allow effective
management, updating, and comparability
of Capacity building
activities.

The Middle East and North African Nutrition Capacity Building
Initiative is part of a global initiative spearheaded by UNU /
FNP / IUNS for Development of Human and Institutional Capacity
Nutrition. |
|

|
|
An Egyptian Nutrition Capacity Building / Development Task Force
was the first to be established in the region in 2003. Members
of the task force are scientists and nutritionists from
different organizations and universities in Egypt.
It was housed by the National Nutrition Institute
(NNI) Egypt. |

Mission: |

To promote the advancement of nutrition science,
the interest of professional nutritionists and Build Capacity in
Nutrition in North Africa and Middle East in a way, which does
not affect the autonomy of any of the member societies.

To facilitate communications and collaborations
among nutrition institutions in the region
through modern technology
methods.
·
To disseminate scientific nutrition information
for public health government bodies and regulators to educate
their populations about health and nutrition.
· To provide data that enables food industry to
produce healthier food
market in the Middle East and North Africa.
